Publications
I have always had a passion for writing. As a little girl, I would write short stories and even made my own version of a newspaper once. As I grew up, my passion turned into a career, and I chose to major in journalism in college. My writing has been published in multiple forms. See below to read some samples.

Opinion Columns
The Reveille
I started working as an opinion columnist with the student newspaper my sophomore year, and I worked there for eighteen months and have over 25 articles published. Some of my favorites include one on education, where I got to interview a member of the Louisiana Board of Education, and one I wrote on Hispanic heritage, where I got to share about my culture. Writing articles required me to research beforehand on the topic, contact and interview relevant sources, and write the articles following AP Style.
Anthology
Acorn Publishing
In 2020, when the world was in lockdown, I connected with a publisher through Instagram. She was looking to publish an anthology relating women’s experiences during the pandemic around the globe. Being from Peru, I wrote about what it was like to experience lockdown there, and my story was published in the multicultural anthology.

Novel Writing
A Work in Progress
I love researching history and religion, and my current work in progress is a fiction novel that spans both genres. It's still a work in progress, but I hope one day it will become a published book.
St. George beat -- articles
Work for my journalism capstone class
For my journalism capstone class, I had to choose a beat to report on. I decided to write articles on the newly created city of St. George in Baton Rouge.
Here is a link to an article about St. George's first mayoral race.
